Westgate Elementary, not too far from BigToys home base in Olympia, Wa needs your help! They are $20,000 from their goal of $90,000 to buy new playground equipment for their school and are trying to win the Kaboom! video contest. If they place in the top three, they get $5,000 towards new playground equipment, so get out there are rock the vote!

Tim got to meet Washington Governor Chris Gregoir at a press conference today touting the state’s remarkable green jobs growth over the past few years. There were lots of smart people on hand, plus tons of regional media. As a local green company, we were honored to attend.

Nepal
December 10th, 2009BigToys has donated a wood “Denali” (from our Summit Series) to Playgrounds of Peace http://www.mrplayground.blogspot.com/. They will eventually assemble it at an orphanage in Nepal, though it’s currently tied up in limbo near Katmandu airport awaiting resolution of some minor issues before it can be transported to the site, which as you can see is ready and gorgeous.

November 30th, 2009Monster Play Systems were then invited to quote, and after taking the brief, they turned the whole project around very rapidly. Commented headteacher Paul Smith, “We knew we wanted equipment that was creative and would stimulate the children. Monster Play called on their experience and not only pulled out all the stops to install the equipment quickly, but added vision to the whole project. Their fresh, innovative ideas meant the final play scheme was even better than we had originally planned.”
