Safety is and always has been our foremost criteria for designing and building great commercial playground equipment. We recognize that children will experiment, try new activities, take risks and test their capabilities every time they play on our playground equipment. This is an important part of every child’s development. We also recognize that this learning must take place in an environment that is free of hazards.
We minimize risks through sound design, thorough testing and use of only the highest quality materials. BigToys playground equipment is designed to meet or exceed the specifications of the American Society of Testing and Materials ( ASTM F1487), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) and the Canadian Standards Association (CAN/ CSA-Z614).
BigToys is also proud to be a founding member of the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) and actively participates in several IPEMA playground equipment safety committees.
In the interest of public playground safety, IPEMA provides a third party certification service whereby a designated independent laboratory validates a participant’s certification of conformance to ASTM standard F1487 Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use, the CAN/ CSA Z614 Children’s Playscapes and Equipment, or both. Safety Signage
With all BigToys playground equipment we deliver, we also provide safety signage which attaches to the structure to ensure maximum visibility. Making sure children and those who accompany them to a playground are aware of basic safety precautions is essential to preventing injuries and maintaining a safe play environment.
